From One Massage Table to a National Team: Meet TCMM

For almost six months now, Taking Care Mobile Massage (TCMM) has been quietly operating from their corner office here at collective_100 - but there is nothing quiet about what this team is achieving. The business began back in 2004 when founder Sandra started offering mobile massage services to clients in Melbourne’s outer south-east suburbs. With three young daughters at home, her goal was simple: to earn enough to cover food, petrol and everyday bills - on her own terms.

What started as a one-woman operation has since grown into a national team that delivers over 30,000 hours of massage treatments each year, working with 200+ partner companies, 70 staff, and now operating in three states. With eight team members based here at collective_100, TCMM is proof that purpose-driven businesses can scale without losing their personal touch. Their Cremorne office serves as a central hub for scheduling, team coordination and planning across multiple states. With a bright corner outlook and easy access to the rooftop, the TCMM team have made the most of their space - proving that even mobile businesses need a strong home base.

Henry on Team Wins & What’s Next

We caught up with Henry, their Clinical Services & Operations Manager, who shared a little about what goes on behind the scenes. His role is all about keeping the day-to-day running smoothly- but not in the way you might think. “People assume I’m out and about all the time, but I’m glued to the computer,” he laughs. “It’s all scheduling, logistics, and making sure our teams are where they need to be.”

A recent proud moment? TCMM’s expansion into Queensland and New South Wales. “That one’s been in the works for a while, so seeing it finally roll out has been a big win.”

When asked what he loves most about working in Cremorne, Henry doesn’t hesitate: “We miss Tarts Anon - RIP- but Hectors Deli is up there. And you can’t beat the rooftop at collective_100.”

With expos coming up across the country (including four here in Melbourne), it is a busy time for the team - but they are up for it.

Building a Business, Writing the Book: Simon Allars on TCMM’s Journey

If you are curious to learn more about the journey behind TCMM, you can dive deeper into their story in Taking Care of Business - a book written by Simon Allars that reflects on the highs, lows and lessons of building the company from the ground up.

As Simon writes:

“Business is immensely rewarding yet extremely tough, rather like parenting. My purpose in writing this book is to encourage you that you are not alone in your daily struggles and the various challenges you encounter. Our business began to provide us the flexibility needed to work around our young family, and twenty years later it has matured into adulthood. This didn't happen without the inevitable growth spurts and pains, triumphs and tantrums, highs and lows. I hope that some of the twenty lessons I've shared will motivate you on your own journey, and help you to enjoy the adventure of business more daily.”

At collective_100, we are proud to support businesses like TCMM - teams with purpose, momentum, and a story to tell.
